Intro to Sock Knitting
Class Day & Time: Saturday, June 24th from 10:30-3:30
Students will learn the basic contruction of a top-down baby-sized sock in this one-day class! The basic sock contruction is the same for baby socks as it is for adult socks, and you will receive a written pattern for both sizes in this class. The instructor will be teaching the students how to make a baby-sized sock from the cuff down using fingering weight yarn, either on double pointed needles or magic loop, dependent on the student's preferred method of knitting in the round.
Prerequisite: Intermediate knitter, able to increase and decrease in knitting without assistance. Must be comfortable and experienced with joining in the round and knitting in the round using Magic Loop technique or DPNs. PLEASE NOTE: THis is NOT a class to learn how to knit in the round. (If you need to learn how to knit in the round, please consider a private lesson or Knit in the Round class.)
Materials:
- 100G (400 yds) skein of Fingering weight yarn (If only completing baby socks, 20G is enough)
- Size 1 36" or 40" long circular needle (for magic loop) OR a set of Size 1 DPNs
- Stitch markers (1 - removeable)
- Scissors
