Learn to Quilt

During this class, students will walk through all the the steps needed to complete a mini wall hanging quilt! Students will measure & cut their fabric, piece the top, layer the quilt, and quilt the wall hanging using a walking foot, then finish with binding the mini quilt.

Skills Learned: Basics of quilting: cutting, piecing, layering, quilting, binding. Use of rotary cutter and mat for cutting. Machine quilting using domestic sewing machine with walking foot.

Prerequisite: Sewing 101 or know sewing basics. MUST know how to use your specific machine, and MUST already know how to sew unassisted. Machines should be threaded and ready to begin. Class instructor will not be able to instruct on the basics of sewing or troubleshooting sewing machines.

Materials: Sewing machine (or rent one for $10/class day) WITH a machine-specific walking foot, cutting mat, rotary cutter, ruler, seam ripper, batting, fabric, thread, and pre-made bias tape. Please arrive early to purchase any supplies.

Fine Print (because everybody has some): All our classes and events have a 7 day cancellation policy. You must cancel your registration for a class PRIOR to 7 days (1 week) before the class in order to receive a refund OR store credit (including the ability to take another class at a later date in place of the class you miss). We apologize, but no refunds, class credit, or store credit will be issued if cancellation is not made prior to this time frame.
