In this class, students will review direct warping a rigid heddle loom, read a basic pinwheel weaving draft and convert to pickup for rigid heddle, weave using pickup technique, hemstitch ends of project, finish fringe, choose appropriate yarn and heddle for project, wet finish after weaving. Weaving is not expected to be completed within the class time, but students may take class looms home for 2 weeks to finish their project. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes early to choose yarn and wind skeins into balls.
Prerequisite: Weaving 1 - Rigid Heddle or the ability to independently warp loom
Materials: 2 skeins worsted weight yarn (2 colors), scissors, yarn needle, tape measure or ruler, rigid heddle loom with 8 or 10 dent reed (shop looms available), darning needle, pen for notes
